L’international congolais Gaël Kakuta est élu meilleur joueur africain du championnat français, en remportant le prix Marc-Vivian Foé. Selon le classement publié le lundi 17 mai, Kakuta, 29 ans, a obtenu 219 points, devançant ainsi Andy Delort (Montpellier HSC/Algérie) qui a 118 points, et Tino Kadewere (Olympique lyonnais/Zimbabwe) : 70 points.
Gaël Kakuta est le premier congolais à remporter le prix Marc-Vivian Foé, remis par Radio France Internationale (RFI) et France 24, depuis 2009.
